Wild freedom or free wilderness, where nature and man live in harmony or nature conquers man, where spiders peacefully hang in their webs high on sun-bathed branches awaiting their prey, a snake slithers across the path without caring about man, frogs only at night when man sleeps in his tent hopping on the beach, where man (even newborns) together with dogs bathes on the same beach...and nobody bothers anyone, everything and everyone merges in one harmony...and this exists only in one place – the island of St. Gregory.

St. Gregory is an island located in the Kvarner, between the islands of Rab and Krk. Small in area, with the highest peak Standarac (226m), it is the second greenest island in Croatia. Today Gregory is uninhabited, bauxite was previously mined there, and more recently it serves as a hunting ground for fallow deer and for grazing sheep. St. Gregory is now a tourist attraction, as the remains of the correctional facility for women that operated from 1948 to 1988 are still visible, along with about 50 bunkers blended into the rocky landscape.

St. Gregory has been known since ancient times on medieval maps where it was recorded under the older name Arta. That is exactly the name of our restaurant, located in the most beautiful bay of St. Gregory, with a particularly stunning view of the sunset. Enjoy the diverse, rich and delicious offerings of the restaurant with very friendly staff, and then explore the rich flora and fauna of the island and experience the charms of untouched nature!
